Titanium Tools are the ultimate solution for dross removal in wave soldering offering unmatched performance and longevity
Find Out MoreTitanium is widely regarded as the best material for wave solder machine fingers due to its unique combination of properties that make it highly resistant to the harsh conditions of the wave soldering process. Here’s why titanium is the preferred choice:
Solder Resistance.
Corrosion-Free.
Strength and Lightness.
Cost-Effective.
Shape Retention.
Don't take our word for it, more Reasons why
Wave soldering involves molten solder, typically at 260–270°C (500–518°F). Titanium has a high melting point (1,668°C or 3,034°F) and excellent heat resistance, ensuring the fingers retain their shape and structural integrity without warping or degrading over time. This makes titanium more durable compared to materials like stainless steel or aluminum, which can warp or soften under repeated thermal stress.
Molten solder contains aggressive flux chemicals that can cause corrosion. Titanium offers excellent resistance to oxidation and chemical corrosion, ensuring the fingers remain intact and functional over long periods. This resistance reduces the need for frequent replacements, lowering maintenance costs.
One of the key advantages of titanium is its non-wettability by solder. Unlike other metals, titanium does not bond with molten solder, preventing solder build-up or bridging on the fingers. This ensures clean and consistent board transport, reducing solder defects and enhancing the quality of the solder joints.
Titanium has a high strength-to-weight ratio, making it both light and durable. Lighter wave solder fingers reduce the overall weight on the conveyor system, which improves the machine's efficiency and reduces wear on mechanical components.
Titanium is chemically inert, making it ideal for environments where material purity is crucial. It does not introduce impurities into the solder bath, ensuring consistent solder quality.
While titanium fingers have a higher initial cost, their durability and resistance to wear and corrosion make them a cost-effective solution in the long run. They require less frequent replacement, reducing downtime and maintenance expenses.
Titanium maintains its dimensional accuracy even under high temperatures, preventing deformation. This stability ensures that PCB alignment during wave soldering remains precise, reducing soldering defects.

"We have been customers of Mike Emanuel of Titanium Fingers for approximately 15 years. We have found Mike to be very knowledgeable in engineering and the assembly processes used in the manufacture of Printed Circuit board assemblies. We have been very happy with the very good service Mike has given us in the past and we are happy to continue having him as a supplier."
"I’d like to say how impressed we are with the titanium selective solder unit you manufactured for us. I’m especially grateful for the quick turnaround – which beat the manufacturers expected lead time by half. I look forward to working with you on future projects."
"Just a quick note to thank you and your staff for the speedy 'turn around' of our order for the impellor and shaft for our Evolution. I have to say I was very impressed with the quality of the goods supplied. It’s great to see what I call 'proper' engineering, alive and well. Please pass my comments on to your staff, will you? The unit has been fitted and is running a treat. "
"Just a quick line to say how delighted we are with your wave solder pallets. We were running a job at the time of their arrival and put them into action immediately. We were also very pleased with the delivery time. Thank you for your excellent service. We would have no hesitation in recommending yourselves, and you may use my details in any publicity."
